Cleaning out Turtle's eye...I'm certain he appreciated it, Cricket! :)
We went to Riverside, Mr. Schalk's hometown, a couple weeks ago to spend time with family and celebrate our nephew's 2nd birthday and our other nephew's baptism. The day before the party we took Cricket to the park with her Grandma and Grandpa. The same park Mr. Schalk used to play at when he was a kiddo. In fact, they still have the same cement turtle in the sand pile. Talk about full circle!

Cricket LOVES the outdoors. She gets dirty and sweaty and is in toddler heaven anytime she can let loose out in the fresh air. She was enamored by Mr. Turtle and even more in love with her Grandma getting in the sand with her. There were a few tears shed when we had to leave, but all in all it was wonderful to be outside and watch Cricket in her element. It was a beautiful day with lots of smiles. It was even followed up with Cricket's first train ride!

As soon as I edit those photos I'll post them up here. Life and baby growing has me a little more tired than usual, but I definitely want Cricket to be able to come back and see her first train ride. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Schalk for making such special memories with your granddaughter. We ALL love you very much!

  1. How VERY special to spend time with family! I love that Cricket was able share the memories of fun in the park with her Daddy, Grandma & Grandpa and that you were there to capture the day!
