Yummmmm!

Last night it snowed....a lot. It's still snowing, but only lightly. Just enough to make you grateful to be indoors for the day. We will only get about 6 - 8 inches when it's all said and done. Some Hoosiers north of us are getting upwards of 10 inches. Snow day!!!

I don't get a snow day today, but I can pretend. Instead, I am looking at these pictures of my little baking sweety from a couple of weeks ago. Whenever I ask Cricket if she wants to help me in the kitchen, she scooches the big kitchen chair over to the counter and climbs up. Ready and willing to be very useful! She loves turning the mixer on and off and watching the ingredients go 'round the bowl. She often tries to taste test so I have to keep me eagle eye on her.

She is a good helper, and gets the biggest kick out of our baking adventures. I just love her enthusiasm and company. This day she heped mix the batter, and  put Thomas liners in every one of the muffin cups. She then proceeded to point out which cup to fill until each one was filled to the brim. "Dat one....now dat one.....maybe dat one," Cricket instructed. She is a girl that likes order and process so she really enjoyed watching each cup get filled until they all matched.

It didn't take much effort, but it certainly made the morning enjoyable. A boxed muffin mix, some fun liners and most of all the sweetest, lively company this Mama could ask for. I never tire of her joy. These moments are especially warming on a cold snowy day like today.

  3. Oh my goodness she has gotten so big! And grows more adorable each day. Peanut loves helping me too- it now takes me twice the time to make everything but it's too adorable to complain about.
