Dear Cricket,

We drove the boat to the North State Park and threw in the anchor. It was shortly after your nap and a quick lunch. We hopped out of the boat into the lake. We put you in your floaty, all lathered in sunscreen and smiles, and set in towards the beach. Your Daddy and I were so excited to see what you thought of the beach. As we approached the sand we took you out and carried you in the rest of the way. We set you on the edge of the beach and watched for a few seconds before we joined in the fun. You sat there, half in the water and half on the sandy shore, and instantly played. Waves coming up your legs you looked as natural as if this were a daily occurence. Running your hands deep into the wet sand a smile crossed your face.  As your Daddy and I watched you enjoy this new experience the same smile slowly spread across our faces, as well. We knew you were a water babe and now you were happily a beach babe, too. We joined in as family memories were made in the sand that neither water nor time could ever wash away. A fantastic afternoon of firsts and fun. And, yet another another prayer of thanks to our Heavenly Father that we get the privilege of being your Mommy and Daddy.

Oh the fun we have!

xo, Mama
