Checking Into The Positive

Gorgeous sweater and hat from my sweet friend Lorie. Poor Cricket was ready for her nap and did not appreciate the delay. I will get better photos because the set looks soooo pretty on her. Not to mention it is super soft and cozy. Thanks Lorie! xoxo

These days when my hips seem wide and my brain feels fried it is good to sit back and remind myself to be positive.

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
-Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

Staying positive can really ward off the nasty, yet tempting, habit of being cranky. Oh cranky, no one likes you, yet you creep up at the most inopportune times. Of course, is there ever a good time to be cranky? Yes, it happens, but I get enough negative thrown at me without choosing that attitude for myself. Although, it can unfortunately be easier to be a cranky monster than choose joy. Tsk, tsk for the days I do not set my mind on the joy that is from our awesome God.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
-Romans 15:13 (NIV)

My goal these days is to create a joyful, positive home. I cannot control the world and what others choose to do with their time and energy. However, with Mr. Schalk, we can create a home that promotes joy, counting ones blessings and encouraging each other.

A perfect home is an authentic, creative, animated space where Peace and Love and Beauty are embraced.

Today is a day to be thankful. I must be an example of gratefulness not only for Miss Cricket but also for myself. Do you ever notice how hard it is to be cranky when your smiling and laughing and truly living?

My favorite!

How do you stay joy-filled in this crazy world? What is your favorite quote to promote the positive? Do you prefer ice cream or hot chocolate? These are life's most important questions, don't you think?

  1. I find joy by seeking Jesus in all things :)
In being thankful for the moments (good and bad)
and most of all, being real : )
Authentic is not perfect. There is no such thing as perfect. If you are trying to be perfect, well then that is the most fake you can possibly be : ) Imperfect is perfect.
