Cricket has had all kinds of "firsts" this past week. A fist full of them, if you will. She met her first cousin, Genevieve, for the first time. Isn't Genevieve the cutest thing you've ever seen? I love this photo of Grandpa Ed with his grandgirls.

Our little pumpkin also had her first walk around the neighborhood. It was kind of a big deal....at least, for mama. Cricket slept through most of it (yay!). Mr. Schalk and I love taking walks in our neighborhood and two warm days in a row meant we got to take the whole family out for a jaunt. Her Aunt Liz gave her the adorable bear hat. Such a sweetie pie with actual sunshine on her face. Mmmm, sunshine. Can you tell I'm itching for Spring?
Usually, Bonnie and Mr. Schalk walk alongside us, but I had them walk ahead to get this picture. We are trying to teach Bonnie that Cricket is a "pack leader" too, which means that she walks behind all of us when we go out. Cesar Milan much? You betcha.
The week also marked Cricket's first holiday - St. Patrick's Day. She doesn't have any green newborn clothes, but her socks definitely rang in the holiday appropriately. However, is it appropriate to "ring in" St. Paddy's Day or is that phrase held out exclusively for Christmas? Who or what exactly is doing the ringing in? Oh, the questions one asks while waiting for baby to wake up from a blessed nap. Productive much? No, thank you.
Happy Weekend!
xoxo, Rachel

ReplyDeleteI remember the first walk with Chickie. She did not sleep. She cried loudly. So the walk was me carrying her and pushing an empty stroller!
